One of life’s persistent truisms is that things will change. Nothing is forever. Such is the story of the original Connected Insight website, which we designed and built all the way back in 2015. At the time, it was perfect. A beautiful dance of art and practicality well-suited to Connected Insight’s place in the market. Yet as time marched onward, so to did Connected Insight, from home offices into office buildings, from a staff of one to a small army of consultants.
Progress does not wait for anyone, and within a few short years, CI had outgrown its original website. They needed a new home, one reflective of their newfound position as serious players within a very serious world of financial consulting.
As we are wont to do, Feral took the point on not just the website design and development, but for the entire creative direction and content strategy. Feral partnered with one of Amsterdam’s finest new photographers, Madeleine Bolle, for two days of shooting in the city’s financial district. Those images became a cornerstone of the new site, and one of its most noteworthy qualities.
The website itself is made up of the usual bits, plus a blog, events, and some other editable content. As is customary, we utilized Craft CMS for the project and deployed the site on Digital Ocean servers. We designed the site on a 6 column grid to streamline development. When the timeline is tight, a grid certainly helps speed template development.
Connected Insight has always been a great partner, and this project was no different. They continue to give us the creative freedom to take the brand in interesting new directions. We wish Tim, Kyu, and the entire Connected Insight team a prosperous next few years.
