Creating a New Team on Digital Ocean

Before get­ting your new site up and run­ning, we need you to cre­ate your own host­ing account and add us to it as team mem­bers. This gives you the best of both worlds: you still have auton­o­my over your data and billing details while we get access to the account to set every­thing up and main­tain the site over time.

We sug­gest using Dig­i­tal Ocean for this. They are a rea­son­ably priced and reli­able host.

Head up to the top right and hit ​“Sign Up”:

Now, cre­ate your account. You will then be asked to ver­i­fy you email address:

Once that’s done you’ll need to add your cred­it card details:

Now, you’ll see a wel­come page:

Head up to the top right and click on your avatar. There should be a drop-down menu:

There should be a link to ​“Cre­ate a Team”. If it’s not there, try reload­ing the page. Some­times it takes a minute to appear:

Once you see that link and click on it, you’ll be able to cre­ate a new ​“team” for your account.

When nam­ing your team, use your com­pa­ny name. You’ll then need to con­firm your billing details for the team:

Then you can add us as team mem­bers. Please use my email timmy@​weareferal.​com
