Creating a New Team on Digital Ocean
Before we can get your site live, we need you to create a hosting account and add us to it.
Before getting your new site up and running, we need you to create your own hosting account and add us to it as team members. This gives you the best of both worlds: you still have autonomy over your data and billing details while we get access to the account to set everything up and maintain the site over time.
We suggest using Digital Ocean for this. They are a a reasonably priced and reliable host.
To get set up head over to their homepage:
Head up to the top right and hit "Sign Up":
Now create your account. You will then be asked to verify you email address:
Once that's done you'll need to add your credit card details:
Now you'll see a welcome page:
Head up to the top right and click on your avatar. There should be a drop-down menu:
There should be a link to "Create a Team". If it's not there, try reload the page. Sometimes it takes a minute to appear:
Once you see that link and click on it, you'll be able to create a new "team" for your account.
When naming your team, use your company name. You'll then need to confirm your billing details for the team:
Then you can add us as team members. Please use the email email@example.com
Great! We should now be able to access your account and get started. If you have any issues, give us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll get it sorted.
